Every test helps us close the gender health gap.

Women and people with vaginas were not required to be in US clinical research until 1993, which means much of our health is still a medical mystery.

Evvy is here to change that. When you activate your test, you can opt-in to include your anonymized results in Evvy's IRB-approved research, helping to close the gender health gap.

Built with leading OB-GYNs and researchers

Physician-reviewed results

Processed in a CLIA, CLEP, and CAP certified lab

Protected by the state-of-the-art encryptions and data privacy standards

What bacteria & fungi does Evvy test for?

The Evvy Vaginal Health Test screens for all bacteria and fungi that have been found in the vaginal and urinary microbiomes — with one swab.

All other vaginal microbiome tests, including other tests at the doctor's office or available online, use technology (called either PCR or 16s) that screens for a predefined & limited list of microbes.

Evvy is the world's first and only test to use metagenomics, an advanced form of sequencing, to check for all bacteria and fungi present. That means you don’t have to order several tests to know what’s up down there — just one.

That includes different strains of yeast, E. coli, Ureaplasma, Mycoplasma, Gardnerella, and much much more. Here is an abbreviated list of everything Evvy tests for - if there is a specific microbe you are curious about, please reach out to us at support@evvy.com!

If you add our Expanded PCR Panel to your Vaginal Health Test, you'll also receive results for 4 STIs (chlamydia, gonorrhea, trich, and Mycoplasma genitalium), 10 antibiotics resistances, and microbial load for 11 common microbes.

Please note that Evvy does not test for STIs unless you add the Expanded PCR Panel to your test. The Expanded PCR Panel is not available in New York or Canada. Evvy does not replace your Pap smear or annual OB-GYN visits.

What is a vaginal microbiome test for?

A vaginal microbiome test is designed to provide a comprehensive analysis of the bacteria and fungi living in the vaginal environment. Vaginal microbiome tests can help identify imbalances in the vaginal microbiome, which can be linked to common conditions like bacterial vaginosis (BV), yeast infections, aerobic vaginitis, and even recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs).

By understanding the specific microbes present, a vaginal microbiome test can guide targeted treatments, helping you address the root causes of symptoms rather than relying on generalized solutions. Additionally, these tests can offer insights into broader health outcomes, such as fertility, pregnancy complications, and protection against sexually transmitted infections (STIs).

Unlike traditional methods, advanced tests like Evvy’s Vaginal Health Test use metagenomic sequencing to analyze over 700 microbes in one swab. This level of detail empowers individuals and healthcare providers to create personalized treatment plans and proactive care strategies for optimal vaginal health.

In short, a vaginal microbiome test is for anyone looking to understand their unique vaginal health, resolve persistent symptoms, or take charge of their reproductive and overall well-being.

Can I pay for Evvy with my HSA or FSA?

Yes! Evvy has partnered with TrueMed to help streamline this process for our US customers. Just choose "TrueMed" as your payment method during checkout and follow the on screen instructions to complete checkout. You can view detailed instructions here.

For subscription purchases, please complete payment with a normal credit or debit card. On the order confirmation page and in the order confirmation email, you can find additional instructions on how to then submit your receipt to TrueMed for HSA / FSA reimbursement.

Your order confirmation email can also serve as an itemized receipt for HSA/FSA reimbursement for the Evvy Vaginal Health Test (single or membership).

Please note that since every plan is different, we can’t guarantee HSA / FSA reimbursement.

Is prescription treatment included in the price of the Evvy test?

No — every Evvy test includes comprehensive, provider-reviewed results, a custom plan of clear next steps, and a free 1:1 coaching call, but prescription treatments are not included in the price of the test, as they will vary from patient to patient depending on your results and health history.

Does Evvy ship internationally?

At this time, Evvy is only available in the U.S. and Canada (excluding Quebec)*, but we hope to expand our reach in the future! Follow us at @evvy or sign up for our newsletter to stay up to date on all things Evvy, including new market launches.

*If you are based in Canada, please visit this page for more information.

How long does an Evvy order take to ship?

For orders shipped within the U.S., orders typically ship in 1-2 business days and take 2-5 days to arrive via USPS.

If you are based in Canada, please visit this page for more information.

Is Evvy peer-reviewed and CLIA/CAP/CLEP validated?

Yes — the Evvy Vaginal Health Test is a peer-reviewed, CLIA, CAP, and CLEP validated test.

During the rigorous validation process, our test showed improved analytical sensitivity and specificity over traditional methods — finally bringing in the power and precision of metagenomics to vaginal healthcare.

What is the vaginal microbiome?

The vaginal microbiome is a complex community of bacteria, fungi, and other microbes that live in your vagina. When your vaginal microbiome is dominated by healthy bacteria, it can actually help protect you from infections and other adverse health outcomes — which is why it's so important to regularly test your microbiome and check on if those good bacteria are thriving. You can learn more about your microbiome here!

Can I discuss my results with my own doctor?

Definitely! You will be able to download your results to share with your care provider if you'd like. The download also includes a brief explanation of the test, lab validity, and results section to introduce your provider to the Evvy test. If you don't have a doctor and you're in a U.S. state that is eligible for clinical care with Evvy, Evvy can connect you with an Evvy-affiliated provider to explore treatment options.

What are the age restrictions on Evvy?

You must be 18 years or older to request an Evvy test, and your test will be ordered and reviewed by an Evvy-affiliated provider. People under the age of 18 will not be able to create an account or receive results.

What is your stance on data privacy?

We fiercely protect your privacy every step of the way — and we will never sell your data. Evvy implements several physical and technical security measures to ensure confidentiality, integrity, security, and availability of Evvy and customer data by employing industry standard safeguards such as de-identification, pseudonymization, encryption, and data segmentation.

When you activate your test, you can opt-in to include your anonymized results in Evvy's IRB-approved research, helping to close the gender health gap.

How long does it take to get results?

Our Vaginal Health Test is the only test on the market to use a high-fidelity sequencing process called metagenomics to analyze your results. Since this process is intensive, final vaginal microbiome results typically take 7-10 business days once your sample arrives at our lab.

If you add our Expanded PCR Panel to your Vaginal Health Test, you'll receive preliminary PCR results in just 1-3 business days from arrival at our lab. These results include STIs (chlamydia, gonorrhea, Mycoplasma genitalium, and trich), 10 antibiotic resistances and 11 common microbes!

Once your sample is received at our lab, you will get email notifications updating you on your test progress.

What is Evvy's return / refund policy?

We offer a full refund for test kits if an order is canceled within twenty four (24) hours of purchase and the test kit has not shipped. Most purchases placed by 9AM EST M-F will be processed for shipment the same day.

If a refund is requested after 24 hours or after test shipment, but within 14 days of purchase of a Vaginal Health Test, and if the sample is not returned to Evvy, we offer a refund in the amount of the test kit purchase price minus a $25-30 (USD) processing fee, depending on your geography. The shipping and handling costs plus tax (if any and where applicable) are non-refundable.

No refunds are available after 14 days of purchase.

To request a refund, please send an email to the Evvy Care team at support@evvy.com with your order number.

For our full refund policy, please view our terms of service.
