Evvy Vaginal Microbiome Test with Fertility Insights

Yes! It’s safe to test with Evvy if you're trying to conceive or think you might be pregnant. Testing involves self-swabbing your vagina in the privacy of your own home. We do recommend waiting at least 24 hours after unprotected sex before testing, as semen can temporarily affect your results. Otherwise, trying to conceive doesn’t change the testing process.

If you’re already pregnant, it’s still safe to test unless your doctor has advised against inserting anything into your vagina due to a high-risk pregnancy. 

We always recommend discussing your Evvy results with a licensed care provider. Please note that Evvy-affiliated providers cannot prescribe treatment if you are actively pregnant.

Evvy puts together a clear plan of next steps based on your results, including actions you can take to improve your fertility associated Microbiome Markers. If eligible, you will also receive a custom care program through Evvy’s platform, which may include treatments like vaginal antibiotics, vaginal probiotics, or other prescriptions to optimize your microbiome.

All plans and treatments are designed with fertility in mind, ensuring all recommendations are safe and supportive if you’re trying to conceive.

No — every Evvy test includes comprehensive, provider-reviewed results, a custom plan of clear next steps, and a free 1:1 coaching call, but prescription treatments are not included in the price of the test, as they will vary from patient to patient depending on your results and health history.

There’s no single “right” time—it depends on your goals. Some people choose to test before trying to conceive to optimize their health proactively. Others come to us after experiencing difficulty conceiving or receiving an infertility diagnosis to ensure their vaginal microbiome is in the best possible state to support conception.

Yes — the Evvy Vaginal Health Test is a peer-reviewed, CLIA, CAP, and CLEP validated test. Our test is also provider-ordered and provider-reviewed.

During the rigorous validation process, our test showed improved analytical sensitivity and specificity over traditional methods — finally bringing in the power and precision of metagenomics to vaginal healthcare.

It depends on your results. If your initial Evvy microbiome test indicates an infection or imbalance, we recommend retesting after treatment to see how your microbiome responded.

If your initial test suggests your microbiome is in a healthy state, we suggest retesting every 6–12 months to keep things on track.

You must be 18 years or older to request an Evvy test, and your test will be ordered and reviewed by an Evvy-affiliated provider. People under the age of 18 will not be able to create an account or receive results.

Our Vaginal Health Test is the only test on the market to use a high-fidelity sequencing process called metagenomics to analyze your results. Since this process is intensive, final vaginal microbiome results typically take 7-10 business days once your sample arrives at our lab.

If you add our Expanded PCR Panel to your Vaginal Health Test, you'll receive preliminary PCR results in just 1-3 business days from arrival at our lab. These results include STIs (chlamydia, gonorrhea, Mycoplasma genitalium, and trich), 10 antibiotic resistances and 11 common microbes!

Once your sample is received at our lab, you will get email notifications updating you on your test progress.

We offer a full refund for test kits if an order is canceled within twenty four (24) hours of purchase and the test kit has not shipped. Most purchases placed by 9AM EST M-F will be processed for shipment the same day.

If a refund is requested after 24 hours or after test shipment, but within 14 days of purchase of a Vaginal Health Test, and if the sample is not returned to Evvy, we offer a refund in the amount of the test kit purchase price minus a $25-30 (USD) processing fee, depending on your geography. The shipping and handling costs plus tax (if any and where applicable) are non-refundable.

No refunds are available after 14 days of purchase.
